It makes my day when I witness kindness between strangers on my way to class. Half my transit time is on light rail or bus, and since I’m on it early morning or rush hour, there’s generally a palpable negativity. On the bus to class, some guy just paid for the fares of the next five people that got on, no questions. On the train from class, a rather imposing-looking dude was writing down transit instructions for this mother with a small army of children, and another guy was helping her get tickets.

Also, I love considerate drivers who will wait for OTHER traffic to stop to let me cross instead of taking advantage of the free pass. It makes me nervous because I don’t like cars waiting on me but it’s still incredibly nice.

Also also, drivers who really go out of their way to the other side of the road when I’m on the section of my street with no sidewalk.
